NEC M271X, M311X and M311W: versatile projectors for education and business

M-series of desktop projectors from NEC Display Solutions is simple and user-friendly. Manufacturer has increased all-new models NEC M271X, M311X and M311W that boast of contrast from 2000:1 up to 3000:1, and some new eco-friendly features that will significantly increase lamp lifetime.



Resolution of the projected image in case of NEC M271X and M311X is 1024x768 pixels (XGA), and brightness - 2700 lumens. New products are able to work up to 10,000 hours in the Eco Mode. NEC M311W has maximum lamp lifetime of 8,000 hours, and the image resolution is increased to 1280x800 pixels (WXGA). All three models feature a 10 watt speaker, the volume of which is controlled by remote control. All of them also support presentations playback feature and can project images from USB flash drive. NEC promises that these projectors consume 12% less power in ECO Mode than previous models.


Projectors are equipped with HDMI, VGA and USB-connector interfaces enabling connection capabilities to one or more signal sources. Devices can also be part of a computer network. LAN port and an optional wireless adapter Wi-Fi are provided for the purpose. Wireless Imaging Utility (WIU) technology implements the actual transfer of images from iPad to the screen, and an application of virtual remote control for the majority of Windows operating systems can simplify the management functions of the projector.


According to the manufacturer, the new items are an ideal choice for conference rooms and classrooms. Service intervals of lamp and filter are approximately the same, thus reducing operating costs. An extended warranty is offered for customers operating in the educational field. In addition to manual focal length and zooming adjustment, the manufacturer provided an opportunity to correct the shape of rectangular image on a variety of surfaces through the special program. Optimization of colors when images are being projected on the wall of a certain color is also available.  The projectors have integrated Ethernet ports and optional wireless connectivity.


"Advanced networking features combined with a double VGA, HDMI and USB inputs, make any of the projectors a powerful instrument for classrooms and conference holes, including healthcare environments where DICOM Simulation technology could be used," said Rich McPherson, Senior Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions. "M Series projectors use the same lamp as their predecessor, which allows lamp accessories to be compatible in case of an upgrade. This is a huge advantage for schools and offices that install projectors in several places. "


Start of projectors’ sales is scheduled for December, 2012. NEC M271X’s price is $ 802; M311X will cost $ 912$; and M311W selling for $ 989.
