ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad – first motherboard with Thunderbolt 2

ASUS expanded its product line with ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad - the first motherboard, using Thunderbolt 2 standard.

Thunderbolt standard (developed by Intel) means that every interface of Thunderbolt technology has four transfer channels - two upstream and two downstream. It allows connecting to all kinds of devices and supplies transfer rate up to 10Gbit/s. Thunderbolt 2 is the next generation of technology, so transfer rate of it is 20Gbit/s in bi-directional channel. Users are able to transfer 4K video and display it at once. ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad has two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

It allows connecting of all kinds of devices and supplies transfer rate up to 10Gbit/s. Thunderbolt 2 is enhanced technology, so transfer rate of it is 20Gbit/s in bi-directional channel. Users are able to transfer 4K video and display it at once. New model has two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad bases on chipset Intel Z87 Express and Socket LGA1150 with support of Intel Haswell processors. Together with DisplayPort 1.2 support, motherboard is aided by onboard HDMI port, so it that it can drive a total of three 4K UHD displays at once. As it was said, thanks to two Thunderbolt 2 ports ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad can connect to up to 12 devices at once. Other features of ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad include:

  • Dual Intelligent Processors 4 with 4-Way Optimization is really easy-to-use tuning tool that provides capacity, efficiency and cooling.
  • New UEFI BIOS interface with simplified mode – special for inexperienced users.
  • NFC Express accessory allows connecting to mobile devices with appropriative module. Also, using NFC Remote applications and Wi-Fi GO!, users can also wirelessly synchronize photos and videos with their PC and remotely control their system.
  • ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad includes eight USB 3.0 ports with USB 3.0 Boost, eight USB 2.0 ports, ten SATA 6Gbit/s ports, three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots and four DIMM.
  • ATX form factor

There is no information about price and availability of ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad, but according to rumors, new model of motherboard will cost near $400.
