ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad – first motherboard with Thunderbolt 2

ASUS expanded its product line with ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad - the first motherboard, using Thunderbolt 2 standard.

Thunderbolt standard (developed by Intel) means that every interface of Thunderbolt technology has four transfer channels - two upstream and two downstream. It allows connecting to all kinds of devices and supplies transfer rate up to 10Gbit/s. Thunderbolt 2 is the next generation of technology, so transfer rate of it is 20Gbit/s in bi-directional channel. Users are able to transfer 4K video and display it at once. ASUS Z87 Deluxe/Quad has two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

It allows connecting of all kinds of devices and supplies transfer rate up to 10Gbit/s. Thunderbolt 2 is enhanced technology, so transfer rate of it is 20Gbit/s in bi-directional channel. Users are able to transfer 4K video and display it at once. New model has two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

New version of UNIVERGE 3C from NEC: for maximum mobility and efficiency

NEC presented new version of UNIVERGE 3C(TM) Unified Communications & Collaboration (UC&C) software platform. Improved version 8.5 includes a lot of functions and will make operation more efficient and mobile.

UNIVERGE solution is a complex of instruments based on open standards that was developed by NEC for joining of local multimedia networks. The main goal of solution is to enhance capacity of shared telecommunication infrastructure including all modern ways of transmission of information. It allows supplying shared workplaces with rich content and video cooperation. UNIVERGE is based on three principles: usability, mobility and secure.

Asus planes to develop Chromebook market

This year Asus planed to sell 22-24 millions of notebooks, but now company has to cut down predictable volume to 17-19 millions. Company saw poor back-to-school demand during two last months. It is connected with sales slowdown in the market of notebooks. According to monitoring of the market, Chromebook solutions seem to be in good demand in education market, so Asus wants to capture a portion of this part of market. At 4Q 2013 Asus will announce new models without touch to focus in entry-level markets and mainstream.
